Scope (Target audience): The course is conducted in accordance to the requirements of sec. 6.4 of IMO Res. A. 1079 (28). This course is designed for participants who possess the required stability training and/or experience.

Objective: After successful completion of the course the trainees should have a better understanding in the theory and practical application of ship stability, particularly the stability of a mobile offshore drilling unit (MODU) and ballast control procedures for trim and list, use of information provided in the rigs operational manual for safe operations of the MODU.

  • Basic stability
  • Operational control, trim, stability and stress
  • Emergency procedures
  • Prevention of pollution

Duration: 36 hours

Prerequisite:

  • Identification card or passport
  • 2 passport size colored photographs
  • Medical fitness certificate not older than 3 months
