Scope (Target audience) : This course has been designed to meet the requirements of STCW section B-V/b and B-V/c and is based on the guidelines of the IMDG Code and IMO Model Course 1.10.
Course is intended for shipboard personnel responsible for cargo handling of packaged dangerous, hazardous and harmful cargoes aboard ships.
Objective : After successful completion of the course the trainees will be able to understand the important physical characteristics and chemical properties of dangerous and hazardous substances, classification of dangerous and hazardous substances and materials possessing chemical hazards including IMDG dangerous goods classes 1-9 and the hazards associated with each class.
