Women in the Nautical Industry - She & Sea

PANEL DISCUSSION REVIEW

Celebrating Women in the Nautical Industry

The "Women in the Nautical Industry - She & Sea" event, held on 16th February 2024 at Zagreb Boat Show, was a resounding success, bringing together women and industry leaders for a day of empowerment, inspiration, and collaboration. With an enthusiastic audience response, the event proved to be significant in promoting diversity within the nautical sector.

The Panel featured a great lineup of panelists, each bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to the discussion:

Panelists shared personal stories, insights into industry trends, and strategies for navigating the challenges of working in the nautical industry. The atmosphere was a testament to the importance of creating spaces where women in the nautical industry can come together to learn, connect, and support one another. The decision to include a male panelist, Zlatko Vodanović, Adriatic Sailing CEO, an esteemed professional colleague and specialist from the charter industry, brought a refreshing and inclusive perspective to our discussion. By sharing his experiences and insights, Zlatko underscored the value of working hand in hand with women in the industry, emphasizing the unique strengths and perspectives that each gender brings to the industry.

Key Themes and Takeaways

Several key themes emerged throughout the Panel Discussion, including the importance of mentorship and support networks, the need for greater representation of women in leadership roles, and the role of education and training in advancing careers in the nautical industry.

Looking Towards the Future

As we reflect on the success of the "Women in the Nautical Industry" event, it is clear that events like these serve in raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and building a more inclusive and diverse industry. We extend our thanks to the panelists and attendees for their invaluable support and commitment to advancing gender equality and diversity in the nautical industry.

After a time filled with inspiring discussions, we concluded the event on a delightful note with a relaxing Baraka Winery wine tasting and business mingling session.
